Dinner Meeting - Case Study

The February 25, 2015 dinner meeting is our Annual Case Study. (See related documents below.)

  A panel of members, representing each of our membership professions (ESQ, CPA, CLU, CFP and Trust Officer) will discuss a Business and Estate Plan for John Smith, 74 and Mary, 72 who have two daughters, Melissa and Debbie, who are in their early 40’s.

This format allows us to engage diverse perspectives and develop a hypothetical “best solution possible.”  The panel/audience discussion will bring up approaches and tactics we might not have considered individually and sharpen our approach to real life client’s needs.

Dinner will be a buffet to allow for more time for discussion.

SEATING:  We will ask our members to populate the tables so that there is cross discipline discussion.  Please look for color coded place settings – match your name tag to a seat.

SCHEDULE:  Jose will present the fact patterns of the Case Study. There will be table leaders to moderate the discussion.  Each table will report back periodically during the evening on issues and solutions.

Even though no dinner choices are required, you must RSVP online in order to give an accurate head count to the Crowne Plaza.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:  Based upon our interpretation of the New York State Board for Public Accountancy regulations, this event will qualify for one (1) CPE credit in Advisory Services.  Our New York State CPE Sponsor license number is 000783.

RESERVATION POLICY:  In order to be able to give the Crowne Plaza a more accurate count and avoid having the Council pay for meals for members who are not attending, it is respectfully requested that;

  • all attendees register for all meetings no later than the RSVP date and,
  • if necessary, cancel your attendance no later than 48 hours prior to the meeting if possible.

$ 85.00:  Guest fee at door (check or cash only)
