About the Topic:

It is an important topic that everyone should be thinking about and advising their clients to think about. It will be a very general presentation concerning digital assets and planning for them. 

  • The presentation will cover what are digital assets. Everyone has digital assets, and what can happen if don’t plan for them.
  • Why it is so complicated for planning for them and what can you do to plan for your digital assets.
  • Why it is important for you personally in addition for your clients to become familiar with the general concepts concerning digital assets.

Edward W. Avery, Jr.

Ed began his carrier with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company (now J.P. Morgan Chase) as a Trust and Estate Administrator in 1982.

While employed at various financial institutions, which have included Chemical, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, and most recently Reliance Trust Company of Delaware, Ed has managed Trusts, Estates, Charitable Trusts, Custody, Investment Management and IRA accounts. He has worked closely with many Attorneys, CPAs and Financial Advisors in assisting mutual clients meet their financial needs.

He received his B.A. from New York University. Ed subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in New York. He holds the designation of a Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA) issued by the Institute of Certified Bankers and has been recognized as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.

Ed is a past President of the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County, Inc.
