“The reasons for forming Estate Planning Councils are to enable people who work as estate planning professionals to get to know each other and to become educated about nuances and concepts of estate planning together so they can work as a team to better serve their clients.” (a)
Join us for an educational and interactive presentation on the actual interaction of our related disciplines. Using case studies we will begin the estate planning process from the vantage point of a CFP®.
- Role of the CFP®
- Financial Plan: Case Studies of hypothetical financial plans with estate planning issues.
- Integrating Professionals in the Estate Planning Process
- Potential Team Players: Attorney, CLU, CPA, Trust Officer
Topics to be discussed:
- Who’s client is it, and how should the client be approached?
- Do you know what I do (as a CFP®)…and am I stepping on your toes?
- At what point of the estate planning process should the CFP® bring the other professionals into the process?
- Do you give a client three referrals to interview or bring the professional directly into the estate planning process at the developmental stage?
- How should you handle fees? Disagreements of opinions?
- What concerns or ideas do you have that you’ve experienced and how were they handled? Please bring your situations to the conversation!
